What this instrument will not do — Daily vessel transits
No official source gives a baseline. Circulating figures differ by methodology; one widely cited number is roughly 73 a day. The architecture as first written said traffic collapsed “from 125–140 daily transits to a handful”. That did not survive verification, so this instrument has no input for it.
